Compliance and policy

All programmes must comply with . Any questions or issues relating to the application of these should be discussed in the first instance with the 大象传媒 editor who has commissioned the output, who may decide to refer further if necessary. The full details of 大象传媒 Radio Scotland鈥檚 compliance policy will be discussed during the commissioning process. The key principles are set out below:-

All pre-recorded programmes (in-house and independent) must be listened to/viewed in their entirety by the producer.

  • All pre-recorded programmes must have a full, signed off compliance form submitted in the system prior to broadcast. This form must be signed by the senior editorial figure.
  • For independent productions the compliance form must be signed by both the independent Executive Producer and the 大象传媒 senior editorial figure.
  • These rules apply to all pre-recorded programmes, regardless of duration.
  • Any exceptions to these rules must be agreed, in advance and in writing, by Head of Editorial Standards, Scotland and, in some cases, also by Director, Scotland.
  • Live programmes must be complied using 大象传媒 Scotland鈥檚 Live Compliance Policy in accordance with guidelines drawn up by Editorial Policy.
  • Online content must be complied using 大象传媒 Scotland鈥檚 Online Compliance Guidelines, in accordance with the guidance being followed across the 大象传媒鈥檚 online services.
  • The 'most offensive' language must be referred to Director, Scotland, in accordance with the guidance on mandatory language referrals. Language referrals must be made before the compliance form is submitted.

There are also rules around the use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) in relation to 大象传媒 output.  If you intend to use social media during the production or broadcast of a programme, or to promote output being made for the 大象传媒, you should discuss this in advance with the 大象传媒 editor who has commissioned the output.
