in 1990 Alan had a phone call at midnight to say this traction engine was for sale. He immediately bought it. The colour is mercedes maroon It was missing a lot of the brass fittings but later the lady who had the necessary pieces gave them to him because she said she could tell he would make the engine as fine as possible. It was built in Thetford in 1898 to generate electric for the fairground ride called The Gallopers. Even now she still sometimes drives them on special occasions.
