This coat of arms came from the front entrances of the court house in Brookeborough in County Fermanagh. The building was demolished in the 1960s to make way for a housing estate. In those days everything would have been salvaged and this coat of arms was retrieved by one of the men involved in the demolition. Brookeborough's most famous son is Lord Brookeborough, who went on to become a figure on the international stage as the Prime Minister of Northern Ireland between1943 - 1963. People have told me not to tidy up the coat of arms as it would take away from the authentic look. Contributed by Robert Coalter during the AHOW event at Enniskillen Library.
