Commisioned in 1919 by Mark Syms, for St Columb Major and has never left the county. It originally cost £1000 and is unique. It remained in the family until 1970 until Steven bought it in 1970 for £2000 and restored it. It was used for agricultural use in the winter months and was used to pull equipment for the funfair in the summer. The machine is more ornate and splendidly decorated than most working engines. When left in St Blazey garage someone painting other vehicles could not resisting emblazing a lion onto the hull and it still remains! In WW2 the engine was used to haul materials for the construction of St Eval airport. It was fired by a German plane and it still bares some bullet scars. The driver was fine as he dived into a hedge!
