This terracotta lamp decorated with two fishes and a horse would have been used by the ancient Romans for artificial light; it would have been fuelled by olive oil and could easily be carried from room to room. This humble lamp reminds of me just how far we have come in the lighting of our homes, and with the 100th object being a solar lamp and charger, it is hoped a brighter sustainable future will be had for all.
