Twiggy (born Lesley Hornby in 1949) became the world's first international super model at just 16. She was brought up in Brent in the northwest London suburb of Neasdon. In 1966 she was 'discovered' and within 4 years she had shot to global success. Twiggy modeled all over the world including Japan, New York and Paris and appeared on magazine covers, including Vogue and Tatler, in the UK, America, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Holland and Spain.
As well as modeling, Twiggy has released a number of records, performed in Broadway shows and appeared in 18 films, firmly securing her place as a household name across the globe.
Twiggys iconic style, as seen on this yellow tote bag, of short hair, large eyes and boyish figure still influence the modeling world today. The bright swirling patterns on the bag is reminiscent of 60s fashion when Twiggy was at the peak of her modeling career.
