This medallion was made in 1891, the year of Charles Stewart Parnell's death. The front side depicts Parnell with the inscription: "Ireland's Army of Independence". The reverse of the coin has the dedication: "Let my love be conveyed to my colleagues and the Irish People". It's north American origins suggest that it may have been connected with the Fenian movement. It has been in the family for generations and was passed to the contributor by her mother who always said it was very valuable.
