Gibraltar dolls

Contributed by Radio producer

Historically, Gibraltar has been an important base for the British armed forces and is the site of a naval base. A number of years ago my daughter was stationed out there and we went to visit her for her 21st birthday. During the trip we went to a car boot sale and I bought these dolls dressed in traditional costumes and gave them to my daughter as a souvenir of her time in Gibraltar, a place she loved. Weeks later my daughter was killed in a road accident. These dolls now remind me of my daughter, her time served with the forces and the wonderful people she knew in Gibraltar.
