Episode 40

Sìleas and Marsaili came out of the castle feeling pretty inspired! The gardens in the castle are beautiful and the castle itself is full of intriguing artefacts. One of these artefacts was the Fairy Flag. Sìleas is inspired by one of the legends associated with it.

One legend states that one of the chieftains of the clan MacLeod married a fairy. After 20 years, she had to return to the fairy land. On leaving her husband the fairy presented a flag, at a bridge known as Fairy Bridge, that could be unfurled three times to summon help from the fairy kingdom. Sìleas is enchanted by this tale and has heard the very bridge is near to Dunvegan and is keen to investigate.

Marsaili thinks this is a load of nonsense, however she has become enchanted by an advert to visit Loch Coruisk, a loch set in the magnificent setting of the Cuillins; the advert also hints that seals may be stretched out on the rocks on the way there.
