Episode 46
Sìleas puts her foot down, she's had it with bits of rock and archaeological nonsense. She has read up on the corncrake and knows that it is it unlike normal crakes who favour marshy lands, but it prefers meadows or arable farmlands. The best place to hear or see a corncrake is in the Outer Hebrides.
The girls find a suitable place to try and find a corncrake and they go first thing in the morning. They can see nothing, but remain mesmerised as they hear the corncrake. It sounds like two sticks being rubbed together. As the bird is extremely secretive, the girls decide it is time for a new adventure.
Where should they go? Sìleas has heard that on the Isle of Barra the planes land on the beach, where as Marsaili, once more, wishes history to be her guide. She wants to go to Drumossie Moor, more commonly known as Culloden.
