Nyrone started in the music industry when he hooked up with听two friends at college and formed the band Black Slate. He played percussion as part of the听five piece band. They released a single called "Amigos" which got into the Top 10 in the 80s. Since then Nyrone's career has been nothing but successful.听
He then started his own independent promotion company as he wanted to be behind the scenes. That led him to start promoting for Jive Records where he worked with Billy Ocean and went on to tour manage听Juliet Roberts from the House scene, and . He also worked alongside听 and the writers of his 1992 hit ''.
Nyrone is the UK representative for producers Sly & Robbie and Juliet Roberts from the House scene. He also worked with Stargate and the Architects - the Garage producers behind the 2001 hit 'Body Groove' featuring Nana (Pron. Nay Nay).
He met up with Raghav after talent spotting him during a band showcase at Sony Music. He saw the X-Factor in Raghav and found him interesting and made contact.
Nyrone sees himself as someone who, because of his experience, is looking at a potential artist from every single angle. He has spent time developing artists from scratch, working on interview techniques, image, colours, and looking at the promotional point of view as well as the sound. Nyrone has actually been involved in the final production and mastering of Storyteller to ensure the right mix is achieved even sound-wise. As one of the 大象传媒 Asian Network Unsung judges he will be looking at every single detail, most importantly, dedication.
You have to be able to handle a gruelling schedule with people dictating things to you. It's not all glitz and glam. Sometimes an artist like Raghav will only have 2 hours sleep and have to appear on 's听show for an interview!
Nyrone is looking for someone who has that little extra something in them. Sometimes you can find someone who has their heart set on a music career: They might not have the talent of major artist at first, but with determination they could make it. They also need to be humble enough to take criticism. Nyrone has very high expectations of the artist he is looking听for and he believes there is a high level of talent in the British Asian community. In the UK, genre or style isn't a big issue. It's talent and the ability to cross over which is key. He wants to be a part of Unsung as it's a chance to uncover some great artists. Those who want to be a part of this process can expect a lot of hard work. The way they conduct themselves in public, in interviews, how seriously they take their schedules and how seriously they take the craft will determine their sucess. Most of all, Nyrone is looking for down to earth, level headed people who are interested in working hard to become an artist.
