Don鈥檛 know which episodes to watch before the rebooted series airs? Bad Education stars Layton Williams and Charlie Wernham, who play the flamboyant Stephen and cheeky Mitchell, sat down with 大象传媒 Three to discuss their聽best Bad Education moments.

From Stephen getting covered in mac and cheese to Form K鈥檚 unforgettable Christmas show, this is what they chose.

Stephen (Layton Williams) ended series one, episode three pretty cheesed off.

Mac attack (series 1, episode 3)

Grayson (Jack Bence) bullied pretty every cast member in the show 鈥 but few students got revenge like Stephen.

After Grayson threw mac and cheese onto his classmate, Stephen kicked his bully square in the face.

Layton鈥檚 lasting memory of the scene was being covered in beige goop. 鈥淚鈥檓 not sure whether it was real macaroni cheese. I think it was something mashed up. We only had one take so the pressure to get it right was immense.鈥

Farmageddon (series 1, episode 4)

鈥淎ny time you get a scene outside the school, they鈥檙e the stand-out days,鈥 says Charlie. But none of the Abbey Grove trips were as memorable as their farm visit, which ended with Form K lost in the middle of nowhere.

鈥淲e had to go on a trek through the woods,鈥 remembers Charlie, 鈥渁nd Jack Binstead who plays Rem Dogg, we had to push him in his wheelchair in the mud. Poor Nikki [Runeckles, who plays Chantelle] had 10 inch stilettos on, knee-deep in mud. And then it started to rain. It was awful weather.鈥

Stephen the striker (series 1, episode 5)

After showing his dance skills, the Abbey Grove pupil proved to be a dab hand on the pitch when Form K played the posh boys of Middleton House.

Layton admits not all of Stephen鈥檚 ball skills were him. 鈥淚鈥檓 not actually kicking the ball,鈥 he says, 鈥淚 don鈥檛 think the ball was near my feet when I was running.鈥 However, one major part of the scene was him 鈥 the six handsprings Stephen does to celebrate a goal.

Bad Education: Class wars (Series 2, episode 2)

Class Wars (series 2, episode 2)

Alfie Wickers (Jack Whitehall) may not be a great teacher, but he did invent one great learning aid: Class Wars, which had his class act out famous battles.

Introduced in the first ever episode, Class Wars returned in series two, with Form K re-enacting the evacuation of Dunkirk. According to Charlie, the Bad Education cast loved Class Wars, as it was a great opportunity to improvise: 鈥淚t says in the script 鈥楢lfie starts Class Wars鈥, and there鈥檚 a little example of what each character is doing.

鈥淎part from that, you鈥檙e being imaginative, putting your own spin on it and creating pure chaos.鈥

Bad Education: The wrong kind of Undertaker (Series 2, episode 3)

Mitchell the undertaker (series 2, episode 3)

Ms. Pickwell (Michelle Gomez) got a big Bad Education send-off in series two after the school thought she had died. At her funeral, Charlie got to live a childhood fantasy when Mitchell confused being an undertaker with being The Undertaker, the 鈥90s wrestler.

鈥淚 loved being dressed up as The Undertaker at the funeral. I used to love my wrestling, so to be dressed up for the day with all the gear and music was like a little dream come true.鈥

Bad Education: Robocracker the Musical (Series 2, episode 7)

Robocracker (series 2, episode 7)

For its festive special, Bad Education took a classic Christmas story and made it its own. When Form K could not decide whether to do The Nutcracker or Robocop as the Christmas play, they decided to do both.

The episode was a highlight for Charlie: 鈥淚 really did enjoy Robocracker. It was heartwarming in a way which I suppose is fitting for a Christmas special.鈥

Form K strike out (series 3, episode 1)

Series three started with a bang, with Form K striking to protest Martin Wickers鈥 (Harry Enfield) plan to fire a teacher. Of course, the strike was really just an excuse for a massive party.

For Charlie, filming the episode had one particular highlight: 鈥淭hrowing a pig off the roof and hitting Ethan [Lawrence] who plays Joe鈥specially as Joe was vegan. I just thought that was a funny image.鈥

Stephanie Fierce (series 3, episode 6)

Years before Layton played a drag queen in West End musical Everyone鈥檚 Talking About Jamie, Bad Education viewers got a peek at the actor鈥檚 drag prowess when Stephen became Stephanie Fierce for prom.

鈥淲hen I booked Jamie,鈥 Layton says, 鈥淚 was like, 鈥榦h my God, why does this feel familiar?鈥 And then I remembered I actually went to prom in a dress on TV.鈥

However, the actor admits Stephanie does not compete with Jamie in the glamour stakes: 鈥淟ooking back [at Stephanie Fierce] I thought, 鈥榦of, I really shouldn鈥檛 have had the full shoulder out and be wearing a boob tube with that straight hair!鈥欌

Alfie was not OK when he had to say goodbye to Form K.

Goodbye (series 3, episode 6)

Bad Education generally had a lot of time for laughs but not much for tears. The show made an exception in its finale, which saw Alfie break down watching the video Form K made for him before they left the school.

Filming on the final episode of the original series was emotional. 鈥淲e shot that on our last day on set, so it was really, really sad,鈥 says Layton.

鈥淲e鈥檇 grown up together. We鈥檇 shared the most ridiculous stories in our trailers and been through ex-boyfriends and girlfriends. I remember being really sad to say goodbye to people that had been my family for three to five years.鈥

Bad Education series four airs Sundays at 10 pm on 大象传媒 Three. All previous episodes of Bad Education are streaming now on 大象传媒 iPlayer.
