Things people with HIV are sick of hearing

World AIDS Day takes place on the 1st December every year.

But attitudes haven鈥檛 necessarily kept up with medical advances, and there are still a lot of misconceptions around HIV.

Thanks to huge advances in treatment, having HIV and having a long and healthy life are not mutually exclusive. Medication doesn鈥檛 cure the virus, but it can reduce its presence in the blood to such a low point that you .

We spoke to eight young men and women who have all been diagnosed HIV positive, to hear about the common misconceptions they face.
