AUDIO CLIP TO APPEAR SOON. Catch Nina on Saturday 15 October at Central Studios (part of Queen Mary's College) in Cliddesden Road, Basingstoke, RG21 3HF. Telephone: (01256) 417522. Tickets are 拢5 and doors open at 7pm. Nina was raised in the village of Overton, Hampshire. Given a guitar for her eighth birthday, she soon developed a great bond with her six string, always playing, but shying away from performing publicly. This probably explains why her music has been a long time coming, but if there is such a thing as perfect timing or facing the music and quite literally, then this is it, she has found her moment. A good voice with honest melodies fused together with a rolling acoustic guitar epitomises what Nina is all about.
So far Nina has played two live sets for the 大象传媒: she played for Phil Jackson at Southern Counties radio and it was the same night The Levellers played, they where great and they asked her to play at their Beautiful Days festival next year. The other was for 大象传媒 Swindon on the Mark Seaman show, he loved her stuff and it was unusual to let someone from outside the Swindon area play as they only promote local bands. She opened the Newbury Fringe Festival this year and plays from time to time at The Cellar Bar in Bracknell and also The Traders in Petersfield. Come and see her play at the Central Studio in Basingstoke on Saturday October 15, 拢5 a ticket, doors open at 7pm and music at 8pm where people can buy the album. Nina's music is all her own and she self-funded the album, which took two years to finish. Sales on the album have been good with a few even going to the US where she has a few fans. She is signed to a label called Newfound records, and the album is available online or at HMV Basingstoke. |
