Susanne Courtney

Hear Susanne every weekday mornings on the breakfast show with Andrew Peach, 7am to 10am.

Susanne Courtney

What makes you laugh?

"Stupid things. Things that probably no one else would find even slightly amusing… like listening to my husband trying to speak Welsh (he is Welsh but can’t speak a word!)"

What’s your most embarrassing moment on air?

"I honestly can’t say that any one moment in particular sticks out – there’s been quite a few. In fact, there’s probably a guaranteed Soose embarrassment moment in every show… the problem is I never know what Peachy will say next!"

Where is your favourite place in Berkshire?

"At the moment, probably our flat. It is the definition of small but perfectly formed."

What are your most memorable jobs before working for ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire?

"I worked for five years in clothes shops and loved it, but I did have one (very) brief spell working in a cinema.Ìý The uniform alone was enough to put you off – a lovely oversized lemon yellow shirt and a baseball cap. Horrid."

What’s your favourite piece of music?

"It changes constantly… at the moment it’s Hurt by Johnny Cash. Though anything by Pure Reason Revolution is worth checking out…!!!" (Editor's note: husband Andrew is a member of Pure Reason Revolution.)

Hi, i have always kept you in the back of mind as the best contestant i've ever seen on all of the reality tv programmes. So having a trip down memory lane tonight decided to track you down on youtube to relive some of the performances....and i stumble across this. I live ooop north in Newcastle and was completely unaware you were a radio presenter, anyhoo i thought of messaging you to tell you i DEFINATELY think you should apply for xfactor, yet it appears the world beneath me have beat me too it and most definately agree. I think its time xfactor had someone like you with an amazinbg voice and to inject a little rock into the very clean image of xfactor...PLEASE>>>>do it for us :)

Mark
I agree with the others, if not for the fame but just to satisfy the hole in my CD collection that is a voice unlike any other... your voice. PS. If you were to cover Hurt, that would really be a beautiful complement to such a legend.

Nicola
Please can you let me know where I can find the Friday recipes on the website. Thank you.

Debs
After all the series' of Pop Idol, Britain's Got Talent, X Factor etc etc, your voice and classy performances are still outstanding.Agree with other listeners that you should definitely auditon for X Factor, as you would win.

Greg
Go for it again on X Factor. You would win! I'm sure of it x

A boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day. Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialled the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper. " Hello ? ""Is your daddy home?" he asked."Yes ," whispered the small voice."May I talk with him?"The child whispered, " No ."Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"" Yes .""May I talk with her?" Again the small voice whispered," No ."Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked,"Is anybody else there?""Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman ".Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked,"May I speak with the policeman?""No, he's busy", whispered the child."Busy doing what?""Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked,"What is that noise?""A helicopter" answered the whispering voice."What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.Again, whispering, the child answered "The search team just landed in a helicopter ."Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?".........................................................................................Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... " ME ."

Frank in Theale.
Hi Susane! Hoping that all is well with you and your family! When I recently went to Virgin Media help line regarding my broadband facility, the young lady's voice offering me the usualselection of options was ,correct me if I'm wrong, "YOUR" very own!Finding this rather pleasant, it did put my mind at rest when trying to resolve my I.T. dilema! Perhaps you might find time to respond to my suspicion! Kind regards, Frank

Clare from Yorkshire
Just to say susanne, you remind me so much of Natasha Bedingfield and when I heard her voice for the first time it sounded just like your quirky voice that you had on pop idol. I think you should bring out a cover version of one of her songs, it would sound brilliant.

Kevinchsky

Lynne Colman

stephen in Loughton NELONDON
Of all the pop idols, x factors etc just one person remains in my mind. Every now and then I search the internet looking to see if that person went on to do something with the amazing singing voice...Susanne manning has re launched her singing career and has a contract with. Her album is out in the spring and a tour dates are being set...then I woke up.Susanne, you have something very special..that even if you miss the odd note your voice is still fantastic. It send shivers fdown my spine just hearing you sing again on You Tube.PS there are very few singers that I like, and I don't usually write these sort of comment on the internet...today is for someone who really does have the X factor!!!STEVE xsclare@ntlworld

John
Hi Suzanne and congrats on being a mum. I hope I don't bring back any painful memories here but I did not watch Pop Idol and never heard you sing. After watching a few of your songs on YouTube however, I cannot understand why you are a radio presenter. You have a stunning and unique voice and the mark of a great artist is instant vocal recognition. Very few singers make me sit back and take notice; it took Kylie a few songs to do that, although the Pete Waterman productions didn't help. I found out you were with ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Berkshire when I Google’d to see if you had recorded anything, sadly it seems not. Good luck with family and I hope your chosen career brings you lots of happiness and success. If you ever do go back to singing however, please come to Belfast. My Kindest Regards

Greta Hayter
Missed congratulating you on yout baby boy so doing it now. Looking forward to your return later in the year.

I wish you all the best with the baby and my only advice to you would be to cherish every moment of the first 6 months because it will go so very very quickly. If you could play Sinead O'Connor, Nothing Compares - I would really love it as it was the record my husband and I had our first dance to at our wedding. Hi Suse, You are right, it should have been buck, and bums,it's there for all to see forever. Where are the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Moderators when you need one :-) Still it's not as bad as the very first Peachy blog entry from a teacher. Man, if that's what they are like now it's no wonder 80% are failing the teaching test.xxx

hi Susanne This poem may help men have a better understanding of women Female prayer Before i lay me down to sleep ,I pray for a man who,s not a creep .One who,s handsome .smart and strong One who loves to listen long One who thinks before he speaks. When he says he.ll call....he wont wait weeks.I pray that he is gainfully employed When i spend his cash .wont be annoyed. Pulls out my chair and opens my door.Massages my back and begs to do more Oh send me a man who,ll make love to my mind.Knows what to answer to .How big is my behind./I pray that this man will love me no end .And never attempt to hit on my friend. And as i kneel and pray by my bed.I look at the creep you sent me instead.AMEN

Kam
I think you are great listening in the morning!

Emma
Hi Susie I was listening to you talking about your feet and how it is difficult to get all the dirt off. I thought that I would let you know that if you buy a foot file from a chemist and file your feet whilst in the bath or shower the dirt from the street should come off. It is a real pain when you can't get the dirt off but I have been using a foot file and it pretty much comes off. Have a good day. Congratulations to the proud dad and Mrs Peach.

ted marcus
you was asking how to welcome peachie back how about spraying the studio with pong de nappie and eau de warm milk to make him feel at home you could also interrupt every two hours with the sound of a hungry baby crying

Jo Piercey
Susanne, I was listening this morning and you and Vernon were talking about Boston and the Big Dig. You were a little sceptical about all the roads underground! Well, last week one of the ceilings of one of the tunnels DID collapse and killed a driver in their car! Boston is now madly trying to save their image so tourism doesn't dip!! Regards Jo

Brian (tilehurst)
Dear Susanne, sorry to write to you but I don't know Vernon's email address, I called into his show this morning with ref to his indicator problem, I appreciate it was nearing the end of the show but I was very disappionted with his response to the information I was trying to give him, he cound'nt be bothered to thank me or say goodbye, only make a joke out of the fact that I thought it was more to do with electrical resistance. (his resistance was low!!) I waited on my mobile phone for over 5 mins (at my expense) while he spoke to another listner and then the traffic report. I would like to reiterate what I said, the problem is unlikely to be the indicator relay because as far as I am aware there is only one relay which operates both sets of indicators depending on the position of the indicator switch (if there is a relay for each side then there will be two relays so you will have to determine which one is faulty) however I still believe there will be a problem with the bulbs or a bad earth somewhere, this would change the electrical resistance on the fauly side and make the indicator relay "tick" faster. I would be interested to know the outcome. regards Brian

Bill Monkau
For the first time I've been listening to you via the Internet. You did a great job enlightening my working day with your bubbly chats. I like the answer on your favourite place. Cheers, Sue Bill Monkau Middelburg Netherlands
