It's part of the Reading Fringe Festival and music starts from 6.30pm. Thursday 23 August | Walkabout | Wiston Terrace | Off Friar Street | Reading | 6.30pm - 12.30am | Entry: Free before 7pm, after 7pm 拢2, after 8pm 拢3, after 9pm 拢4Sophie Henderson, Joey Ultra, Steve Bradfield, Blardy Blars, Intraverse, The Vice, White Sunday and The Colours have all been confirmed so far to play a special Reading Festival warm up night in Reading, organised by Black & White. It's recently also been added to the Reading Fringe Festival bill, showcasing the local talent there is in the run up to the world-famous festival off Richfield Avenue. More bands will be confirmed nearer the time and show times haven't been confirmed, but see below for estimated times. The Colours - headlineReading's keyboard led stonking indie rockstars once played a sterling version of Rihanna's Umbrella on 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's The Session Introducing, showing their light-hearted side among songs with more dramatic flair than Quentin Crisp. Their current EP is Aurora Borealis. White SundayStomping Reading rock 'n' rollers White Sunday are back at The Walkabout after playing to a rapturous 450 sell out crowd in April.听 White Sunday Since then the band has recently signed to indie label Acid Queen Music with a distribution deal through Universal.听 Their eagerly awaited debut single is due for release in October before the release of their album next year. The ViceNo-nonsense lads arms with Kings Of Leon albums, they add an rough-shod elegance to the Reading music scene. One of the hottest talents around and signed to local label Heathen Records, bluesy rock songs from their EP Lovers have been played on 大象传媒 Radio Berkshire's The Session Introducing and other local music shows. IntraverseKent boys Intraverse are back by popular demand with the Walkabout regulars after their outrageous performance at Black & White's launch night back in February.听 Intraverse This is definitely a band to get everyone in the festival spirit.听 Frontman Max Pepe will be leaping about the stage like a man possessed, whipping the crowd into a party frenzy with their highly energetic catchy funk-pop-rock songs.听 Blardy BlarsAnother bunch of Reading 'sex-punks' who've taken the spirit of The Small Faces and used it boot Babyshambles in the face. Sing-a-long anthems such as Daisy, and Number One Fan (an ode to Debbie Harry) fulfil their mantra of 'doing their best to everyone dance'. Steve BradfieldWhen I say that alternative acoustic artist Steve Bradfield is also the dread-headed frontman of grunge metal outfit Radiate, then you'll know not to expect some James Morrison character. Steve Bradfield Radiate are working on a new album and in the meantime Steve turns it down a few notches by returning to the Black & White stage with his chilled out acoustic set.
