Something New, the follow up release to the surging pop shenanigans of 2006's debut EP Aurora Borealis, is well and truly upon us.听

A track so crammed full of hooks and riffs it sounds like it might explode at any moment like some spectacular musical firework.

Amidst the usual crop of identikit indie, rock and metal bands, there was always something exhilaratingly different about The Colours.听

Recent recognition on slicethepie.com, a website where fans can pledge money to their favourite bands, means that The Colours are one of 12 bands from 600 worldwide to be picked to go through to the prestigious 'Showcase' stage, a virtual arena where fans and A&R scouts alike can listen to the nation's emerging bands.听

The website's investors as well as fans can help the band raise 拢15,000 to record and release an album, the idea being that anyone who contributes financially can receive a slice of the royalties.

You can head to the Fez Club in Gun Street, Reading, for the single launch party. The gig is also a fund raiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
