Hello Wembley 04.10.07 | Walkabout Bar | Wiston Terrace off Friar Street | Reading | 9.30pm - 12am | after 9pm 拢2 - 拢3HELLO WEMBLEY (Headline)Local band Hello Wembley are certainly one of the more distinctive bands in the area, combining frontman Alex Waring's banter and rough vocals with Debbie Howard's soaring voice.听 Never shy to put forward a firm point of view, demonstrated with 'daily rants'听 on their Myspace blogs, the synth punk band attempt to sum up the current state of this isle's culture with their debut single Up Great Britain, released through Velocity Recordings on 19 November. The Quotes ONLOOKERS (2nd on)Kent band Onlookers have huge potential far beyond their hardly out of school years. Brothers Dale and Callum Norton, Tom Ford, Jamie Darby combine to unleash a furious energy of a Doors/ Led Zeppelin inspired sound.听 Whereas youngsters all around them are jumping on the nu-rave band wagon, these young lads are sticking to the classics. Only a handful of gigs in, they have already been snapped up with a combination of very high profile management, booking agent, and label - although the exact details are being kept firmly under wraps while the band is allowed to develop. THE QUOTES (opener)Formed in late 2005 with a recent change of bass player, Ben Smith, James Ashby, Liam Barnes and Chaz Mayhew are Reading feel-good indie band The Quotes.
