12.04.08 | Club Velocity | Plug'n'Play Studios | Milford Road | Reading | 8pm - 2am | Price 拢5Reading's Plug'n'Play Studios are preparing to host Club Velocity on 12 April for a night of live music from some of Berkshire's top local bands. The Lineup: White SundayTopping the bill will be Reading outfit White Sunday.听 The five-piece who formed in 2001 are being tipped for big things in 2008. Their very first gig was supporting superstars Kasabain whilst a last minute booking at The Reading Festival last year has ensured the band's profile continues to grow. Radio 1 DJ's Huw Stephens and Edith Bowman have also both recently given their backing to the band. Their first single If You've Got The Soul is due for release on 26 May 2008. It was produced by studio duo Dave Allen (Massive Attack) and Mark Ralph (The Cure). The NoyzeThere's a bit of a buzz growing around The Noyze both locally and further afield. They are pulling in good crowds and by many people's reckoning should be the next Reading band to make it nationwide. Local band The Noyze are also playing The band also featured on the recent 100% Reading compilation CD released to celebrate the wealth of local bands in the county. Dirty MundaysThis five-piece are not Berkshire based, originally hailing from Staffordshire. They formed last year and describe themselves as five guys from Stoke having a good time. The band started as an Oasis tribute act called Noise And Confusion before deciding to give it a go themselves and write their own material.
