With so many pictures available picking a small selection must have been hard, Lady Roberts explains how they choose the items:"In this very small space we decided that we needed to concentrate on some key areas. So just roughly going round the exhibition we did his birth, his childhood, the coronation of his mother in 1953. Investiture Coronet "His schooling and university training, the investiture in Carnarvon Castle in 1969, a key moment in his life. "Where we are standing now, in front of the case relating to his training in the armed forces. "First of all in the RAF and then in the Royal Navy and then his family life. His marriage to Diana, Princess of Wales, the birth of the two princes.听 "His work and support of the queen, so visits overseas. His charitable work - particularly the Prince's Trust, but also his work with artistic charities. "Then on a small scale: charming sorts of mementos, souvenirs - also books from his library". Which photographers were involved with this exhibition?"Well a huge range of photographs and photographers are included, Cecil Beaton, his uncle the Earl of Snowdon, his cousin, Lord Lichfield and a number of other professional photographers. The royal family are in the public eye so a number of photographs in the exhibition are press photographs." What photographs in the collection have a special meaning to you personally?"The photographs of the investiture, which is a very solemn and serious occasion, and particularly the ones that show the prince kneeling in front of the queen.听 "Making his oath of allegiance and the moment when the Queen places the investiture coronet on his head.听We have this investiture coronet, beautiful golden object in the exhibition."
