Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)/Radio-Canada

As Canada's national public broadcaster, CBC/Radio-Canada offers a uniquely Canadian perspective on news and current affairs. Its two news services, and , were the first Canadian broadcast media to be awarded by (RSF).

One example of our pioneering programming on disinformation and misinformation is Radio-Canada鈥檚 , a weekly French-language television series and online resource that provides tools to help Canadians evaluate the content they see on social media. The show is the first in North America dedicated exclusively to these issues. The unit鈥檚 fact-checking work was recognized with membership in the Poynter Institute鈥檚 (IFCN). 顿茅肠谤测辫迟别耻谤蝉 is also a participant in Facebook鈥檚 fact-checking program.

  • CBC/Radio-Canada鈥檚 most recent annual public meetings have focused on our role as one of Canada鈥檚 most trusted sources of news and information. In 2022, we highlighted ; in 2021, our foreign correspondents looked at the .
  • CBC/Radio-Canada is a member of the DG8, a group of eight public service media organizations fighting disinformation and censorship, promoting independent, fact-based journalism, and defending media freedom and safety. CBC/Radio-Canada is assuming the presidency of the DG8 in 2023.
  • CBC/Radio-Canada also chairs the , which includes ABC (Australia), 大象传媒, France T茅l茅visions, KBS (South Korea), RNZ (New Zealand), SVT (Sweden) and ZDF (Germany). The Global Task Force was established in 2020 to defend the values and the interests of public media.

Together with 大象传媒, Microsoft and The New York Times, CBC/Radio-Canada is a founding partner of , which is focused on verifying and authenticating the source and integrity of digital news content.
