The annual event held at BAFTA recognises outstanding musical achievement. Daniel Sankaringh and Edith Edith Bowman sang the praises of Birmingham students live to the nation on her Radio 1 show after seeing them perform at Access to Music鈥檚 annual awards ceremony on 5th December 2007. DJ Chrome (AKA Mike Walkenden) and Jodi Lawrence were two of just six acts chosen to perform at the annual event, which celebrates the achievements of music students. Urban music winnersEdith Bowman presented awards to students from across the country, including Birmingham鈥檚 Sherelle Thomas and Jermaine Donegal (both 19, from Aston and Perry Bar) who received the National Business Enterprise Award. Jermaine and Sherrelle perform as hip-hop/r'n'b duo Sparks and Scarce, and were runners up in the recent UK Urban Music awards. DJ Chrome Birmingham talentMaster Kunal (AKA Kunal Raval, 19 from Handsworth) received the National Culture & Diversity Award and Daniel Sankarsingh (18) received the award for Outstanding Student of the Year, Birmingham. British EminemEdith said: "James Morrison was involved in Access to Music before he hit the big time, so it鈥檚 always a good place to look out for up and coming talent and the performances yesterday during the awards show were incredible. "A guy called Chrome who looks like a British Eminem, he鈥檚 amazing, he was brilliant, so Chrome well done for your performance, it was my favourite from yesterday.
