• We can measure length using these metric units: millimeters (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m) and kilometres (km).
• When we measure different things, we must consider which unit is best to use.
• There are 10 mm in a cm. There are 100 cm in a m. There are 1000 m in a km.
• We also use metric units to measure weight. We use millilitres (ml) and litres (l) to measure volume and kilograms (kg) to measure weight.

The metric system is used to measure the length, weight or volume of an object. Length is measured in millimetres (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m) or kilometres (km).

• 1 m = 100 cm
• 1 km = 1000 m

Weight is measured in grams (g) and kilograms (kg). Volume is measured in millilitres (ml) and litres (l).

• 1 l yw cyfaint carton o sudd oren / 1 l is the volume of a carton of orange juice
