Gabrielle: Hi! I'm Gabrielle.
Gideon: And I am Gideon.
Gabrielle: We have come to meet Kevin. Kevin knows all about plastic pollution and how to help people shop for food in a way that helps protect the environment.
Kevin: Hey, Change Champs. It's great to be with you today, but first things first, have you got your reusable shopping bags?
Gabrielle And Gideon: Yes!
Kevin: Fantastic because plastic is really bad for the environment. Lots of plastic doesn't decompose. That means they stick around for hundreds of years. It can also end up in the ocean and hurt the wildlife there. I have a mission for you.
(UPBEAT MUSIC PLAYS)
Gideon: Your mission is to provide a delicious treat for your classmates without using or buying any plastic.
Gabrielle: Kevin is gonna help us shop locally to make a simple sharing snack that we can enjoy with our classmates.
Gideon: We've got to try find food not wrapped in any plastic so we can try to reduce the amount of pollution we create.

Gabrielle: We have come to our local food market on foot and we have our shopping bags ready.
Kevin: One of the things that I love about shopping in a local market is all the amazing fruit and veg you can choose from.
Gideon: Look at the different colours and shapes!
Gabrielle: I think a fruit platter would be a great idea for our sharing snack.
Kevin: What a great idea. Which fruit do you think your classmates would like?
Gabrielle: I think orange.
Gideon: Plums.
Gabrielle: Pears? Maybe those-
Gideon: Satsumas.
Kevin: Fantastic. All great suggestions, but remember your mission鈥 no plastic wrappers.
Gideon: Kevin's right! There are so many things that we'd like to buy, but we have to be careful even at local markets. Some things might be still packaged in plastic.
Gabrielle: We can't have these because they have plastic around them.
Kevin: What about these? Can we use those?
Gideon: No.
Kevin: No, because they've got plastic around them, don't they?
Gideon: Kevin, what is this holder for?
Kevin: This is a fruit tray, and in fact, all these trays and boxes are man-made resources and they're used to protect the fruit as it's transported from where it's packaged to where we buy it. But I wonder what it's made out of.
Gabrielle: I want to ask whether the tray's plastic or cardboard. Excuse me, is this plastic or cardboard?
Stall Holder: This one's cardboard.
Gabrielle: Thank you! It's cardboard.
Kevin: Cardboard, fantastic. And cardboard's much better than plastic packaging because all types of cardboard can be easily recycled.
Gideon: We have decided to buy strawberries, apples, bananas, and some other stuff.

Stall Keeper: Would you like a bag?
Gideon: No, thank you. We've got our own reusable bags.
Gabrielle: Yeah.
Kevin: Well, you two, you nailed that mission 100%. Not one piece of plastic is going to be thrown away. And do you think your classmates will enjoy that snack?
Gabrielle And Gideon: Yes!
Kevin: Well, just remind me what we bought.
Gideon: Our bags are completely full of delicious snacks for our class.
Kevin: I guess it's time to get back to class. Come on, kids let's go.
Gabrielle: We have learned, if we all use less plastic, like they do at our local market, we can make a big difference to our planet.
