Alan travels \(100km\,in\,5hrs\).
Find his average speed in \(km/h\).
\(Speed = \frac{{Distance}}{{Time}}\)
\(Speed = \frac{{100}}{5}\)
\(Speed = 20km/h\)
Alan's average speed is \(20km/h\).
Find the speed of a train which travels \(243km\) in \(2hrs\,15mins\).
\(Time = 2hrs\,15mins\)
\(15mins = 0.25hr\)
\(Speed = \frac{{243}}{{2.25}}\)
\(Speed = 108km/h\)
The train is travelling at \(108km/h\).
