Bob Dylan emerged as an influential musician at a time of great change in the USA the 1960s.

The 1960s saw some of Dylan鈥檚 most famous recordings and performances, which were often reactions to and influences on, social movements, political figures or the relationships he formed with other musicians. Advances in radio and TV helped bring Dylan鈥檚 music and message to a wider, global audience.

Dylan is famous for promoting change through his songs, which often expressed frustration with leaders who could be seen as opposed to change. This feature can be heard on Dylan鈥檚 1963 album, Free Wheelin鈥. In this year Dylan performed at the Freedom March in Washington D.C. USA. This was also the occasion of Martin Luther King, Jr.鈥檚 I Have a Dream speech, which called for an end to racism in the United States.

Make You Feel My Love didn鈥檛 have a career-changing impact on Bob Dylan鈥檚 career because in 1997 he was already an extremely successful and respected artist.

Two different covers of Make You Feel My Love were featured on the soundtrack to the 1998 film Hope Floats. One of the covers was by Garth Brooks and it earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and a nomination for Bob Dylan in the Best Country Song category.

Adele also covered Make You Feel My Love on her first album, 19, released in 2008. Furthermore, it was released as a single, entering the charts a number of times over the following years and peaking at Number 4. Adele鈥檚 version was also used in the 2010 film When in Rome. Other performers that have covered Make You Feel My Love include Ed Sheeran, Kelly Clarkson and Lea Michele.
