A performer can develop their range of skills through working in different performance situations, assisting others, making decisions and working effectively within the rules of the performance.

Completing the performance skills unit

To complete the Performance Skills unit, you must demonstrate a range of movement and performance skills in two physical activities.

Performances within these two activities will be compared to six key criteria:

  1. the performer must have the ability to select and safely apply a range of movement and performance skills, with some control and fluency
  2. the performer should be able to demonstrate body and spatial awareness with some identifiable patterns and rhythms
  3. the performer will need to work co-operatively with others
  4. the performer will demonstrate techniques, composition or tactics safely
  5. the performer will make appropriate decisions and adaptations in response to variables
  6. the performer will demonstrate some consistency of movement and performance skills in straightforward contexts
