The problem
Global poverty is a global problem. Around 1 billion people live on less than 84p a day. Many African countries do not have the resources which would enable them to find a way to beat poverty.
The headline from a 大象传媒 article in 2015 asked:

The article states that although the number of people living in extreme poverty has halved in 20 years, it will be difficult to achieve the United Nation鈥檚 aim of beating world poverty by 2030 as we need to find ways of raising incomes and increasing productivityThe amount of work produced by a person in a given time..
In other words, helping people to help themselves.
The NGO
Oxfam was set up over 70 years ago in an effort to help deal with global poverty. One of their beliefs is that people have the power to change their lives and the lives of those around them 鈥 all they need is a little help.

This is an example of how NGOs set up their own schemes to help people improve their lives through education, training and access to opportunities.
