Communicating information in your assignment
You will have to demonstrate your literacy skills by clearly communicating information to the reader. Your report should include:
- a title
- headings that break up the information, evidence and arguments into sections
- a clear and logical structure, which shows the findings from your research (as recorded in your Processed Information sheets)
- use of geographical terminology and geographical diagrams specific to your issue or topic
Write-up of assignment aeport
You must take your Processed Information Sheets into the write-up with you. You should refer to this Processed Information to help you to analyse your findings, but you must not copy from it.
You will gain marks for how well you use the data from your Processed Information in your report. Make sure that the graphs/maps/diagrams/photos on your Processed Information Sheets show evidence you have gathered from two different sources.
Remember, there is no restriction on word count, so you can write as much as you can within one hour and thirty minutes.
It is important to view the Higher Assignment as extremely important and treat it like an exam. After all, it is worth 27% of your final mark in Geography.
