When an object is being designed it is not usually drawn to actual size. Large objects are scaled down onto the page and small objects may be scaled up.

Constructions are accurate drawings of shapes using a ruler and protractor. From a sketch or a description, you may be asked to ‘construct’ a triangle

Transformations change the size or position of shapes. Scale factors can change the size of the shape.
Module 5 (M5) – Geometry and measures - Angles in polygons
The sum of the angles in a triangle is 180°. To find the sum of the interior angles of a polygon, multiply the number of triangles in the polygon by 180°.

There are two systems used for measuring quantities - metric and imperial.

Scales are number lines which can be straight or circular. You will see scales on measuring jugs, car speedometers, oven dials and many other measuring instruments.
