The Creation story is described in the first two chapters of Genesis: "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness..." (Genesis 1:26). For Catholics, this is very important and many take it to mean that God has given humans a special role.

The Catholic Church practises seven sacraments. Many of them, such as private prayer, fit easily into daily life, whilst some pilgrimages and sacraments may only happen once in a lifetime.
God and authority in the Catholic Church
The Bible is a central source of authority for Catholics and reveals many important teachings. Catholics also respect the authority, leadership and teaching of the Pope.
