What are French sunflowers?
There is a region in the south (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) of France called Provence, which is famous for its fields of sunflowers (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) and lavender (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.). They've inspired famous artists (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.), such as Van Gogh, to paint fields of flowers (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.).
How do you make a French sunflower?
You will need:
- an A4 sheet of thin card (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.)
- a pair of safety scissors (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.)
- glue (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.)
- coloured tissue paper:
- yellow (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.)
- brown (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.)
- green (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.)
Instructions:
Print out (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) the template (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) for the flower, leaf and petals, onto an A4 sheet of thin card.
Carefully cut out (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) the template.
Use the template to cut out petals (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) from the yellow tissue paper and leaves (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) from the green tissue paper.
First glue the leaves onto the card and then glue the petals on top of the leaves to make the flower.
Scrunch up small pieces of brown tissue paper to make seeds (Check your connection, refresh the page and try again.) and glue them to the centre of the flower.
If you don't have a printer, why not try drawing your own French sunflower?
