  • The capital of Northern Ireland is Belfast. It is by far the largest city in Northern Ireland. It is about four times as large as the next biggest, Derry/Londonderry.
  • Belfast is an important port. Ferries travel to Liverpool and ships carry goods.
  • It was also a centre for shipbuilding. The ocean liner, Titanic, was built there along with lots of other big ships.

  • A famous tourist attraction is the long rope bridge at Carrick-a-Rede. It goes to a tiny island. It was first built by fishermen nearly 300 years ago!
