Out of shot we can hear lots on rummaging and items beingthrown into the background.
CARA: So, I was in the park doing yoga yesterday…
EXT. PARK - DAY - Cara in a sukhasana yoga position, eyes closed.
CARA: And as I was approaching a zen like calm, I started hearing all the sounds in the park.
Loud crashes and bangs. Cara looks visibly annoyed.
CARA: And it just hit me.
Out of nowhere a cardboard box hits Cara on the head.
INT. STUDIO - Cara snaps out of her daydream as an actual box has hit her.
CARA: (through gritted teeth) - How amazing all the sounds around me were.
MARTIN enters.
MARTIN: You were attacked by a bear?!
Cara sighs.

CARA: Hi guys!
MARTIN: Greetings humanoids!
CARA: I’m Cara.
MARTIN: And I’m ‘Wardnepjowsitburtreudjafarsalamand i the third’, but you can call me Martin.
CARA: We’re so glad you’ve joined us for this week’s video, which is all about…
Cara does a drum roll but is cut off quickly.
MARTIN: SOUND!
CARA: sighs Spoiler alert!
MARTIN: Where?!
Martin ducks under the table. Cara pulls him back up.
CARA: So today we’re going out and about recording all the weird and wonderful sounds we find.
EXT. PARK - DAY - Martin, dressed in a safari outfit, sneaks up on a bush, he peers inside and a large roar is heard.
MARTIN: Found one.

MARTIN: I’ll never forget the new sounds I heard on my journey to earth.
EXT. SPACE - Martin sits in a cardboard ‘spaceship’ in front of a schlocky green screen outer space. His spaceship is stuck in traffic and there are multiple car horns beeping.
INT. STUDIO - DAY
MARTIN: I can’t wait to:-
Martin’s mobile phone rings. He laughs nervously.
MARTIN: Oooh, another new sound.
Martin takes out his phone and ducks under the counter.
MARTIN: (on phone) Mum! Not now, I’m acting…Yes the alien thing!
CARA: Ahem!
MARTIN: I gotta go mum, bye.
Martin gets up from under the table.
MARTIN: Sorry that was…Major…Tom.
CARA: (annoyed) Like. I. Was. Saying.(recomposed) Today we are going out and about foraging for all those sounds we don’t often stop to hear.
A crack of thunder and the sound of rain hitting the roof.
MARTIN: Cara, I hear that sound all the time.
CARA: sighs Cut!
Cara reaches forward and turns off the camera.
INT. STUDIO
CARA: This is hopeless!
MARTIN: I thought it was going well.
CARA: Did Major Mom, I mean Tom, tell you that? sighs It wasn’t supposed to rain today.
Cara points to the weather app on her phone.
MARTIN: Maybe it’s right, I’ll go check.
INT. STUDIO - MOMENTS LATER - Martin re-enters the studio, completely soaked.
MARTIN: Yeah it’s not right.
CARA: Geee, how could you tell? Well we can’t record outside now. This episode is ruined!
MARTIN: Why don’t we record sounds, you know, in here?
Cara looks around in complete silence.
CARA: Great, our next video is going to be a silent movie! Think Cara!
Cara slumps on the counter in deep thought. Martin mimics her. A drip of rain hitting a bucket creates a constant beat.
CARA: All I can hear is that stupid rain.
MARTIN: Me too!
Martin starts hitting the table to the beat of the rain.
CARA: Martin! That’s it!
MARTIN: What’s it?
CARA: The table! You’re making a beat on it. It sounds like drums.
MARTIN: Oh yeah, I knew that!
CARA: Look at all this stuff!
Cara picks up an old toothbrush and comb.
CARA: My old toothbrush and comb!
Brushes the two together in a repeated rhythm. Martin picks up a broom and rake.
MARTIN: My old toothbrush and comb!
Cara rolls her eyes. Martin pretends to brush his teeth with the broom and brushing his hair with the rake, leaving a clump of grass on his head. Cara laughs.
CARA: Try hitting the handles together.
Martin hits the handles together.
CARA: We could make every type of instrument with this stuff! Are you thinking what I’m thinking?!
MARTIN: I doubt it!
INT. STUDIO - DAY - YouTube style view - Cara and Martin stand in front of the counter with the items arranged into categories of material.
CARA: Guys! Today we have been crazy busy collecting…
MARTIN: Lots of awesome indoor items we can use to make sound!
CARA: Sounds we don’t often stop to hear!
MARTIN: We’ve been in the garage:-
CARA: STUDIO!
MARTIN: Garage STUDIO, all afternoon, organising our objects.
CARA: Things you’d find every day.Cara gestures to the glasses.
CARA: We found combining items can make cool sound effects. Like a swarm of bees.
Cara makes a buzzing noise by blowing paper through a comb. Martin swats around him.
CARA: Or how about a horse?
Cara picks up coconuts and makes a clopping sound. Martin prances in the background with a wooden horse.
CARA: Or even thunder and rain.
Cara shakes a metal sheet followed by pouring rice into a bowl. Martin puts his hand out and looks up for rain.
CARA: (devilish) Or cracking bones!
Cara twists a stick of celery, creating a bone crunching sound with makes Martin wince.
CARA: So… how about we put all this together in a sound off!
MARTIN: I’m scared.
Cara laughs. The two face off against each other in a beat em up style game. ‘Cara the Conqueror’ Vs ‘Martin the Mighty’. Both have energy bars at the top. As they create their sounds with different items it sends soundwaves towards the other person, depleting their energy bar.
MARTIN: Wood and wood!
Martin uses two wooden spoons.
CARA: Metal and metal!
Cara uses a watering can and a pair of keys.
MARTIN: Plastic and metal!
Martin uses a plastic toolbox full of metal screws.
CARA: Plastic and rubber!
Cara uses a milk carton with a taught elastic band.
MARTIN: Paper and…
CARA: Paper and plastic!
Cara blows through the comb and paper again. Martin’s energy bar is depleted ‘CARA THE CONQUEROR WINS’ shecelebrates. Back to YouTube style shot.
MARTIN: Cara I know you won, but can we still do the thing?
Cara looks at Martin, smiles, and nods.
CARA: Take it away, Martin!
They begin to sing a story-song, incorporating a lot of the different sound effects they have discovered using everyday items. The piece ends and Martin’s phone rings faintly.
CARA: Not again!
Martin reaches under the table pulling out a brown briefcase. A blinding white light emits from it as he opens it on the table. He reaches in and grabs an old sandwich, throwing it away.
CARA: That’s all we have time for today. Thank you so much joining my musical Martian and me on our curiosity voyage, exploring some incredible indoor items. We really did make a racket!
Martin pulls out a tennis racquet. Cara looks on in amazement as Martin reaches in further, pulling out increasingly larger items. He finally goes head first into the briefcase.
CARA: Errr…See you all next week.
Martin pulls out the phone from the briefcase. He answers it.
MARTIN: (on phone) Mum!..No I’ve not seen your eyeliner…Grounded?!
Cara picks up the sheet metal and shakes it followed by rice in the bowl followed by a bit of tinfoil and scrunches it against Martin’s phone.
MARTIN: Bad weather here mum, you’re breaking up, bye!
Martin hangs up. Cara and Martin look at each other.
CARA AND MARTIN: Metal and Mums!
The pair laugh.
THE END.
