Is there a God?
Description
This film presents 12 perspectives from Christianity, Hinduism and Islam, as well as atheism and agnosticism, on the question of belief in God. Each statement is short and considered, and taken together the statements reflect diversity within and between the religions and perspectives presented. Contributors include Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Ben Elton, Professor Stephen Hawking and Dolly Parton.
Classroom Ideas
The class can research different interpretations of God from different major religions. What are the differences? What are the similarities? The class could discuss whether or not they believe in God. Students should explain why they hold their views. If they do believe in God they should explain what form God takes for them.
