*We see Oisin and Alice standing on a desert road beside a sign leading to Bethlehem. *
NARRATOR: Today we are going to learn about the birth of Jesus!
Cut to the interior of the stable as Mary nurses baby Jesus in her arms and Joseph stands over her.
OISIN: Oh look at that cute little baby! Hang on, is that who I think it is?
NARRATOR: Who, this wee fella? That would be the baby Jesus! In the Bible, after Mary was told by the Angel Gabriel that she would have a child, Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem. The town was very busy so they had to stay in a stable. This is where Jesus was born.
ALICE: It actually looks kinda cosy!
*A sheep baas. *
NARRATOR: Some nearby shepherds were visited by an angel who told them that the Son of God had been born and that they must go and welcome him.
Two shepherds walk into the stable.
OISIN: Did anybody else go to see Jesus when he was born?
*We see three wise men under a night sky. They point up to a bright star, amazed. *
NARRATOR: Yes! Three wise men saw a star in the sky. It was unlike anything they had ever seen. They knew the star meant a king had been born, and they followed it to Bethlehem to find him.
We see the wise men enter the stable carrying gifts.
NARRATOR: The wise men brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. These were very valuable, and fit for a king. Even though Jesus was only a little baby, born in a humble stable, they believed that he was the king the star led them to.
*The wise men place the gifts down in front of Jesus. *
ALICE: Class! Maybe I'll ask for some gold for my next birthday!
NARRATOR: Jesus鈥 first visitors were poor shepherds and rich men, and even though he was a king he was born in a stable meant for farm animals. Because of this, Christians believe that Jesus came to serve people from all races and backgrounds.
