Good and evil - Unit 1
Crime and punishment
Crime is a reality in every society. The guiding principles helping Sikhs to consider questions raised by crime include fairness, equality, free will and justice.
Forgiveness
Many think war is sometimes unavoidable in response to aggression; others say war is never justifiable. Many Sikhs believe war is sometimes justified. They also value non-violence.
Good, evil and suffering
Every religion has its own way of explaining human suffering and the concept of evil. Sikhism teaches that ego is the main cause of evil.
