Wolverhampton Adult Education Service collected money in support of 'Children
in Need'. W'ton Adult Education 2006 C.I.Need Darren Maher the Mathematics coordinator collected money at a bring and buy sale in the foyer building cafeteria.听Many donations of bric-a-brac were received, including some hand made cuddly toys donated by the textiles department. Dan Bates - access to HE Art and Design student - had his head shaved for the event. Christian Morgan had some wild and wacky hair colour. This took place in the cafeteria on Friday morning. The cafeteria was also selling specially made Pudsey cakes and Pudsey calendars. Black Country anticsA 24 hour bowl-a-thon in aid of Children in Need took place at the AMF Bowling Express, Birmingham Road. At Queen Mary's High School Year Nine at Wodensborough Community Technical College, Wednesbury, did a sponsored silence, a beauty room, washed windows, non uniform day, penalty shoot out and a "guess the teacher" event. Beacon House care home for the blind supported the appeal by staff and residents dressing in Pudsey pyjamas. Hob Green Primary School in Pedmore, Stourbridge had a day of "mix up". The children were dressed in "odd" clothes. Odd socks, shoes, anything goes for the day. Fun 4 Kidz Nursery in Wolverhampton held a sponsored treasure hunt with the children and all of the staff sponsored to come to work with a "just got out of bed look" wearing pyjamas, having wild hair and wearing their Pudsey ears. Kewford Eagles FC Under 6' held a mini tournament on Saturday Nov 18. All subs from the day were donated. Also there was tea, coffee and a barbecue stall. The proceeds from these will also be donated. To raise cash for 大象传媒 Children In Need, male teachers at Queen Mary's High School in Walsall dressed as "Drag Queens" and paraded for their appreciative pupils. Walsall New Deal in BlakenallPeople from Blakenall and staff of Walsall鈥檚 New Deal, Walsall Council鈥檚 Parks Service, Sure Start, Blakenall Community Association and Eurest have been putting on their 鈥榮illy clothes鈥 and being 鈥榬ather outrageous鈥 to raise money for Children in Need. New Deal organised a Fun Walk around the New Deal area. The walk started at 7.30am at Blakenall Village Centre with walk of the perimeter of the New Deal area.听The walk ended at the Blakenall Village Centre where light refreshments were donated by the Horizon Restaurant team. Children in Need 2006 Blakenall Walsall Following refreshments the walkers set off again from the Centre at 10.30am taking in the rest of the New Deal area. There were pick up times and locations throughout the walk. Both walks were arranged in short stages so that everyone in the community could join in and do what they can.听 The walk finished with a 鈥楶udsey Party鈥 starting at 4.30pm at the Blakenall Community Association.听 There was a whole host of activities aimed at raising as much money as possible - hair braiding, temporary tattoos, fun and games in the sports hall, manicures, face painting, guess the sweets in the jar (donated by Mountfords Newsagents) and fairground rides. The Blakenall Police Beat Team will ran a competition of 鈥楪uess the balloons鈥 in the police car. Children in Need 2006 Blakenall Walsall The main attraction of the evening was a 鈥楻obbie Williams鈥 and 鈥楩rank Sinatra鈥 tribute act which started at 5pm. Paul Rowlands, Chief Executive of the New Deal Partnership, said 鈥淓veryone in our community has worked together to make this event a great success - as can be seen from the range of agencies and local businesses that have come together to create this fun family event for Children in Need鈥. New Deal Wheelers Bike ClubOn Saturday 11th November members of the New Deal Wheelers Bike Club got activities for Children in Need off to a 鈥榳heelie鈥 good start. Members of the 鈥楴ew Deal Wheelers Bike Club鈥 turned up at Leamore Park and took part in a sponsored cycle ride. Members cycled a total of 34 miles around the park raising 拢82. Doug Gill, vice chair of Walsall鈥檚 New Deal, said: 鈥淲ell done to everyone. Our bike club does valuable work with young cyclists teaching them a range of cycle skills. This is an excellent effort for them to have raised this much money鈥.
