The ´óÏó´«Ã½ is not responsible for the content of external websites ![]() Rob Pallatina Walsall-born Rob studied the visual aspect of music during his three year tenure at the London College of Music and Media. "I graduated in 2004 and moved back to this area," explains Rob. "I loved the course and the way it allowed me to be so creative with music and moving images. "I've always liked music and can play the drums. When I got back here I was approached by Wolverhampton band Paisley Riot about playing the drums for them. The band had gone through some line-up changes but we were all experienced musicians so we put things together. ![]() Clip from the track 'Not So Hard At All' "I got a multi-media technical job for the daytime and with that, my qualifications and playing with a local band, it wasn't too long before I began putting music videos together in my spare time." unsignedmusic.comRob set up a website on youtube – unsignedmusic.com – and began uploading his work. Visitors can now listen to some of Paisley Riot's top songs whilst watching Rob's work. Some of his shorts are live action films with real actors and locations; others are animated films with quirky plots and characters. "I love the creative process," says Rob. "I like to literally close my eyes while listening to a song and see the finished piece in my head. I like to really get a sense of what a song's about – what its message is – then design a story for the images around it. ![]() Clip from the track 'Not So Hard At All' "For example Crackerjack is about love. Finding it, losing it, chasing it. The video is really quirky – a guy in a supermarket who spots this girl shopping and follows her around the aisles trying to win her heart. It works really well for the song." Rob's videos are building momentum on the unsigned band circuit and word-of-mouth is strong. "I get people coming up to me at gigs we play asking me about the videos. The hits are growing. I've also collaborated with experimental five piece Circadia and Blues outfit the Temple Street Resistance, both of them local bands. "Obviously a career as a music video producer for MTV would be nice but at the moment I love playing on the local circuit and putting these videos together. I'm the drummer for Paisley Riot so I think it's good that a drummer is getting a bit of recognition. Drummers can often have the less glamorous role!" ![]() Clip from the track 'Crackerjack' Rob Pallatina will be talking live on ´óÏó´«Ã½ WM Introducing on Thursday 22nd November 2007.Paisley Riot play the La Rock Café on Friday 23rd November and the Island Bar in Birmingham on Friday 14th December 2007. last updated: 20/11/07 You are in: Black Country > Entertainment > Music > Watch: Unsigned bands music videos
