Carnival-goers will again be taking to the streets of Wednesbury for the event, which is now in its 34th year. It is again run by Wednesbury Rotary Club and organiser John Jones promises "a great day out for the family" and the Carnival features a packed day of events.

It's all change for the festical as there is no carnival parade with floats scheduled. Instead there will be a fancy dress parade with prizes for the best outfits and costumes that will be judged by the Mayor and Miss Wednesbury 2008.

The carnival also features music, dancing, stalls, a raffle and of course, the crowning of the Carnival Queen. A special attraction for this year is a Viking re-enactment that takes place during the afternoon.
