Title: Dj vu 'tutu'
Image by Rebecca from Leicestershire | in fashion, design & create, recycling
I made the skirt to the tutu from random panels of old denim and bits of used fabric. I then melted wrappers onto and sewed on extra bits of materials that would have otherwise been thrown away. I left all of the edges on the tutu raw so that it would tie in with the ragged raw feel of the dress. I used gathers and pleats when I attached the skirt to the top of a worn out pair of dungarees which were destined for the bin, to make the dress puff out slightly. My design would be for little girls and I hope that it would make them think about recycling and that it can be fun!
