The purple dots on the dress are amethyst gem stones, I researched there are amethysts mines in Mexico, also the mustard colour of the dress is a mature colour and complements the purple. The bits on the bottom are beads, shaped like Chilli peppers a food popular in Mexico and the colouring of the beads represents the Mexican flag. The pattern on the dress was inspired from Mexican art and some Matthew Williamson designs I have seen I researched. Also the layering was inspired from Mexican dresses I researched.
