Title: Quetzalcoatl Incarnate

My inspiration is the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl. He is the god of the sky and of creation and is thought to have discovered chocolate which is why I've chosen him as the basis of my design. Having looked at Matthew Williamson's design I concluded that his designs are feminine and flowy so I decided to create a puffball dress and bolero with a waisted belt. From my initial research I decided on my colour scheme which I wanted to be bright to reflect the temperature and the climate with hot orange and chocolate to reflect Quetzalcoatl's gift to the people. With the colours I decided to use the ombre dye technique to graduate the colour of the dress as it is a technique from that region.I decided to try and make parts of the outift textural to reflect Mathhew's use of embellishment by gathering on the bolero sleeves which also reflects the wings and feathers of Quetzalcoatl. I also embellished on the belt with a print and then possibly with beads.
