I was inspired by the food and dance of Mexico. The fresh produce and spices that Mexico had to offer motivated the colour for my design. Especially the Mexican kitchen full of pots and pans cluttered everywhere and surrounded in vibrant colours. The tassels on the back of the dress resemble the Indigenous dancers of Mexico City as seen in the picture on the right. The shoes are a radiant red like the fire in chillies. I wanted it to bring out the heart of Mexico, just like the heart of the Mexican flag, the Golden eagle. I chose the name 'muchacha de oro' which is Spanish for Golden girl.
