Title: Casual Mexican Dress
Image by Katya from Cheshire | in fashion, design & create, drawings/design
My inspiration was the climate and partying tourists of Mexico, therefore I have chosen a light, floaty cotton to be soft on the skin and keep you cool in the summer. There are light, puffy sleeves to protect shoulders from the harsh sunlight of Mexico. Also, the open back can keep you cool. Some of Matthew WIlliamson's designs in the Spring/Summer 2007 collection inspired me to add extra beads and embroidery, which adds to the whole Mexican feel. The dress is very versatile, as it can be accessoried to match your mood or the event, for example: worn barfoot with bikini underneath for beachwear; worn with heels and a long, double-looped necklace for a party or the catwalk.I decided to go for a casual look, as Mexico, to me, seems more like a friendly, cheerful, partying country rather than snazzy and glamorous one. Because of that I thought a more casual look should be appropriate.I drew the dress by hand and edited out smudges and stains with a paint editor. I hope you like my dress, I put loads of effort into it!
