I'll try not to ramble on but I will probably get carried away anyway! So basically my inspiration came from the national flower of Mexico, the Dahlia flower. I chose this because of its exotic shape and colour. Also, Dahlia flowers have a lot of Mexican history; especially within Aztec culture (from making medicines to decorating head gear) so I decided to incorporate the Aztec style into my design. The skirt is light and designed to flow to enhance its beauty when in action. I have also created a Mexican mood board that built up to my final design. In my design I have included: fabric swatches, bead samples, a colour palette and other things that have influenced my design.
