Here's my re-attempt at the CD design, with a different style font. After watching Ed's interview, I saw him as quite a cool, chilled out, and colourful character. I also felt his musical sound was soulful and natural, and yet at the same time modern and urban. That's how I came to the contrast. Since Ed said, "My style is rootsy" I thought... Plants! His hair, tried to make it look like a lot of autumn leaves, bundled together. Since I was going towards the natural style, I added some flowers, winding up his hands, and made his hoodie look like hills and blue sky. I made it look quite scruffy and coloured it with watercolours, to keep it all calm, and to show he is pretty down to earth. I picked this particular shot of Ed because in the interview he says he likes provoke thought, and in this picture he is looking quite mysterious. That, I thought, would work nicely. I remembered Ed saying he liked colours, so I added a bold, city backdrop, to stop the whole case from looking too relaxed and to show his city side. This is how I see Ed as a musician.
