Title: Ed Sheeran Design

For the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Blast competition, I chose Ed Sheeran. This is because I preferred his music over all of the other bands, and I thought he was genuine and passionate about his music and career. He has a unique style of music and I would definitely want to listen to it. I liked his idea that he wanted to have a ‘boy next door’ image and not to be in the spotlight all the time so I blurred his eyes, so it is sort of mysterious and hides his identity. I saw his interview and how he mentioned that he loved colour. I tried to use bold colours to outline his silouette so that he stands out. I made the background dark so that the portrait jumps out with an outer glow. I used Photoshop to create a universal identity – it also creates a mysterious effect, I didn’t want the design to be too flashy and detailed so I made the design bold, striking and fairly simple. I think that this album cover will stand out from all of the other albums which are on sale, and will catch your eye. I also hand drew the writing so that it wouldn’t just be plain font, because that would be boring. I chose this image as a way to disguise his identity as he has his hands over his face. I textured the background slightly as to not make it just one block of black colour in the background but to give it some texture.
