When watching el policia芒聙聶s interview I took notes on who their inspiration was and what they felt was their sound. Afterwards I begun creating and mind map of this information and researching the album covers of these artists and listening to the sound of El policia while creating my design. From this I got an urban pop/rock vibe. I used Photoshop to create my design first incorporating ink splats I had previously made and the repetition of the photo strip to give rhythm to the piece just like in their music. Next to portray their urban sound I included a skyline using the dark, deep and mysterious colours they mentioned liking in their interview. Finally, I added the only fresh clean cut picture of the design, three of them, so that they were the main focus point in the visual hierarchy attached with masking tape to give a scrap book, raw type feel. For the typography I wanted something bold but at the same time suited the rest of my design. To give the text more energy, rhythm I used active line to add detail, inspiration I got from El policia芒聙聶s music. I also 芒聙聹attached芒聙聺 the typeface with masking tape to give the design unity and lastly added the top layer of a gritty texture to give the cover a border and clearly convey the bands sound. What I really like a bout my final design is how El policia芒聙聶s sound is presented through the different elements of the design that also create unity at the same time and how even with all the added textures and colours taken from inspiration from their music, interview and their inspiration artists just them; El policia are still the main focus which was I really wanted and intended to do.
