Title: Portrait 09-Ed Sheeran
Image by Ryan from Northern Ireland | in art & design, 2d, drawing
I chose Ed Sheeran because I found him genuine in his interview. I would not normally listen to his style of music but I feel this benefited me as my unfamiliarity with his genre meant that I did not have preconceived ideas about how his album cover should look. I emphasised colour in my album cover and tried to keep it bright and simple. I noticed the paw image on Ed's guitar and thought that what was worthy for his guitar was worthy for the main feature of his album cover. Inside the paw are images of Ed's face, eyes and his guitar. The central part of the paw has an image of Ed on a train (a la thomas the tank engine). It's done in reference to his large collection of train tickets and the fact that trains are quite emotional imagery for many people- they signal the start and end of many journeys in life. The artist's name is beaded with a nod to his love of colourful bracelets.
